An object in motion

Published:

Newton’s first law - an object in motion stays in motion unless acted upon by a greater force.

I’ve been thinking about this a lot recently and how it applies to my life, particularly the past 5 years. On November 6th, I celebrated my 30th birthday in the usual way, reflecting on the past year and looking ahead to my short- and long-term goals. The past year has been one of the more challenging ones of my adult life. Between dealing with the loss of my mother, a breakup, and challenges scaling my business, it felt like I’d finally hit a wall after years of consistency. I was no longer in motion, or so I thought.

After months of grieving, rationalizing, and cursing God, it hit me like a 10-ton anvil; slow progress is better than none. The one thing I got right over the years was building systems around *every facet of my life. This past year they came in clutch. While my trajectory slowed, it never stopped, and every day I remind myself of that.

Inshallah, this next decade will be one of immense growth. There’s a ton more to learn and do and that excites me.
